You ever feel like just yesterday you were at your own high school prom, getting your first car and then one day you woke up and in those first blissful moments of the morning when you're warm, wrapped up in your sheets, looking like the beauty you are with your hair matted over one eye, you realize you're about to be poked with a stuffed cat and a gaggle of children are screaming about being hungry, cold, or sick, and wonder how you got here?? Well, let me tell you, I am feeling it..but not in the way you'd expect.
Hailey has been bugging me for about 3 weeks to take off her training wheels. We have done it before, and I didn't want to spend the time running behind her bike in this 100 degree weather. Well, this week while we were at my moms' house, Hailey convinced her Dad to take off her training wheels on her bike at grandma's and before he even turned around, she was off and running or should I say riding. She didn't even require help. Granted, she is six years old, and Landon was riding at 3, but still, the idea that she just took off is a constant reminder that we are slowly becoming less and less needed...at least for a lot of those basic physical demands.
Please forgive the bummer this post is going to be, I find myself having a pity party... that three of my children will be in school this year, my baby is already pulling herself up on her knees (and she's only 4 months old), Hailey doesn't need training wheels, Landon hasn't called me from college....oh wait, ....ok, reeling it back in...Time flies and I am already feeling that I wish time would stop and hold for awhile. I'm gonna get off of here and play with my wonderful family before I miss it all.
Enjoy your kids...they'll only be small for the tiniest moment.

Where DOES the time go?!? It just goes WAY too fast! It's funny how you realize time flew by when they do something you aren't ready for them to do just yet! I alwys feel sad even when they switch into bigger kid car seats!
