Great Friday!
That's right, on Good Friday, we had a great Friday with the birth of our newest little baby girl. I went in for a Dr. appointment and he asked if I would like to be induced. I didn't know he meant right at that moment, but I am so happy he did. Shem and I walked the sky bridge from his office to the hospital and actually had to wait for a room because they were so busy. I didn't actually get in and going until about 10:30am. She was born at 2:45 with no problems at all.
Stats:
Ireland Cosette Ure
6 lbs 13 oz
19 in
lots of hair (even more than my others were born with)
two very noticeable deep dimples in her cheeks
the sweetest disposition ever
She looks like the complete compilation of all of my other kids, or to say it a little better, she looks like her daddy. Who could ask for more? Well, I will post the pics as soon as Shem gives me the camera.

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Today is Shem's birthday! I have to start by saying that he is the MOST wonderful husband there is. Great Dad too. We all had to let him know from the break of dawn until bedtime. I have to back up a little by saying that yesterday it just started snowing around 5 o clock or so. It came down so fast and hard, I thought I was watching a rain storm until I got closer to our window. Well, this wonderful fact led to a school closure this morning, and Shem not being routed! How awesome is that?! The kids immediately went to drawing picture after picture for their dad and I think we have Landon partially convinced that Shem is half leprechaun. So, every picture he draws is of his dad as a leprechaun. Shem went out then to find a battery for his birthday camera (which he loves and when I realize he is gone, I have to look around for what new wonder he has discovered with it) and I ran out to get the finishing touches for his Bday dinner...martinelli's etc... He finally gave up trying to stay out of his presents and opened them all in the late afternoon before the cake or dinner, but at least he didn't get them before...
Dinner, of course, steak and shrimp with all the fixins and a strawberry sheetcake for dessert.
He is upstairs now playing a new game I got for him. I think it might just be a late night. I just have to say, Shem, the world was certainly blessed on the day that you were born, and I was blessed from the moment I met you. Thank you...
for being kind
for being caring
for being a loving man
for being so compassionate
for having the biggest heart of anyone I know
for loving your family
for being a great dad (I say this a lot, but you have no idea how great this really is...and I've discovered how rare this is)
for being a great husband
for living the gospel and teaching our children
for protecting us
for always coming through
for being able to make ANY situation work
for kissing me every morning
for smiling as much as you do
for understanding
for looking at me and saying "it's okay"
Thanks for these and a million other reasons that I love you..
I just don't care who knows what a corny sap I am for saying that I adore you! Happy Birthday Baby.

Hurry up and wait
I found out I was pregnant at about the time that 3 other women in my ward did. We were all due within a week of each other. This is a second baby for two of them, and a third for one. Since this is No. 4 for me, I was sure that I would deliver first, so as long as I saw us all together, I could take solace in that. Now that two have already had their babies, (almost a whole month early, yeah, they both went in February), and the other just got out of the hospital with false labor, I am feeling, Oh, just a little left out.
I am sure I am feeling enough contracting and pain for all four, but nothing is happening. Of course, I want baby to come whenever she is ready, but come on people! It doesn't help that these other women put together probably weigh 90lbs and are oh so comfy. Then here I am rolling down the hallways and dragging one leg because this baby likes to sit on my nerves. Add a little drool and a "yes master", and I will officially be Egor.

Listen to the children...what they say..
I was listening to the radio the other day (through the TV of course) and there was a singer on with the deepest carmel, silky voice. I closed my eyes and said to Landon,
"This is what your voice will sound like when you're older, huh?"
He looks at me and says,
"Look at my face, now listen to that voice....does it fit?"
I said,
"I think it could."
He says,
"okay then, I guess it will." and walks away as if mom has spoken the gospel truth
Oh the wisdom of this child.
This morning as I am doing my daily bit of laying on the couch, Abby comes up to me and I give her a hug and tell her I love her when she looks at me and very matter of factly says,
'Mom, I'm an alien, and I have alien friends."
Well, okay then. Landon swears he was raised by monkeys until we found him, so I guess aliens are okay too.

Baby Update
I'm 34 weeks and 3 cm. What does this mean?? Will I go any day? Will I walk around this way and need to be induced at 41 weeks or so? Whatcha think?
Doc says not to worry about baby. He says if she is born now, she would more than likely be just fine. He also said he needed to complete the last bit of testing now instead of waiting the usual couple more weeks....Just in case.
Wow, yet another first for me.

Brain Power
Alright momma, this one's for you.
So I've been getting on to Landon quite a bit lately because he keeps "forgetting" things at school, or at least trying to, which leaves me each day sitting in the parking lot going through his backpack before we leave the school. Inevitably, each day he has to run back in to retrieve some "forgotten" piece of homework. I am not quite sure why he keeps attempting this, because when he "forgets", he is made to do double homework at home that I give. I tell him that it is sheer laziness and irresponsibility (yeah, he's nine...so what!).
Anyway, after a long talk with him and even a reminder note card glued to the front of his binder, he says, "Mom, am I better today?" I said, "As a matter of fact, I'm very proud of you, you've been 100% better." He says, "You know why?" Of course I didn't, so he says, "Well, I had a talk with my brain and told him to stop being lazy and just do my work, he got mad at me, but ...that's why."
I just looked after him as he walked away. This was right before he got the flu, so I guess his brain was really mad at him, but he continues to do better and hasn't "forgotten" since.
