Landon and I are starting to run. I am preparing for the Bolder Boulder, and he has been given a running chart from his soccer coach with a "request" that he run at least twenty minutes twice a week in addition to his 1 1/2 hr. soccer practice every Friday.
So one day I got all suited up in my running gear and was met at the door by three other children. Landon, Hailey, and Abby were all crying because they wanted to go too. It was the day I was going to do the 6mi and instead ended up bargaining with Shem and the kids to a 2mi., with the agreement that I wouldn't slow down and they had to either keep up, or get in the car with Dad as he drove along side us. Abby puttered out at about a quarter mile. Hailey made it 1 3/4 mi., and Landon did the whole 2 miles and was barely winded. Way to go kids! Who knew I would grow to have some running companions? Landon's goal is to run in the Bolder Boulder with me. I'll let you know.

Wow, that sounds like fun! Good luck with all the training. That will be fun to do it with Landon. I just have to say Happy Birthday to the whole family. And you really need to set up a video camera in your room at night and just press record and soon as Shem goes on his rampages. I'd make for some great YouTube footage.
Everything Peggy said and I am so proud of you for sticking with your goal. I just am not that big of a runner.I hope to someday find the activity that suits me and I look forward to doing.
